Cedar Valley Custom Finish started the way most good things do — with a commitment to doing the job right. We're a family-owned painting and finishing contractor based in Waterloo, Iowa, and we've built our reputation one project at a time by treating every home like it's our own.
At the heart of it is Ryan Smith — our lead artist and owner with 15 years of sprayed finish experience. He began with industrial coatings and later auto collision repair, mastering the craft of achieving a perfect finish. Then through prayer he found his true calling in residential finishing: transforming the spaces where families actually live. His background shows in every job — in the extensive prep work, the technique, and the quality of the final coat.
Our faith guides everything we do. That means showing up on time, communicating honestly, and never cutting corners — only painting clean lines. It means standing behind our work long after the job is done.
